Sherry Ann has 30 years of corporate experience, a major part being in the area of Training and Development with Public Bank Group and subsequently with KESDEE Corp. Inc., a US-based e-learning solutions company as Regional Office Manager, in charge of the Asia Pacific region. In the year 2003, she moved into a new business venture and began work as a training consultant in the areas of Communication skills and Customer Service. In the year 2011, she worked as Academic Director and the Principal of Westlake International School in Kampar, Perak. Currently, she acts as Principal of Westlake Language Centre and Consultant for ASK Education & Training Sdn. Bhd.
Her tertiary education includes a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) from University Sains Malaysia (USM), Diploma in Education (Distinction) and Masters in Instructional Technology (Distinction) from the University of Malaya.
She also received the Dean’s book prize and the Malaysian School Inspectorate book prize for being the overall best student after completing her Diploma in Education. She is also certified as a Trainer by the Singapore Institute of Management, a Program Leader by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), and appointed to the Postgraduate Board of Studies by the Faculty of Languages & Linguistics, the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 2015 as well as an industrial advisor for UTAR, Kampar for 2016 to 2020.
Sherry Ann has been part of the school leadership team since its inception in 2012, serving as deputy principal in 2013 and principal from 2014 onwards. She has brought her past experience of an educator in school and at the tertiary level as well as an industrial practitioner to build Westlake International School with a team of passionate people.
Her other practical experiences are in the area of training and human resources development. Having mastered local and American Management philosophy and business principles from various on-the-job training, functional responsibilities and training combined with her direct experience in teaching, she is an excellent trainer on critical skills and result-orientated teams.
Her training experience includes training the Public Bank, Panasonic Corporation, Maxis, Kenwood Malaysia, Sharp, Astro, Fuji Xerox, Allianz Life Insurance (M) Berhad and the University of Malaya. She has developed and regularly conducted training programs on Train the Trainer, communication skills, customer service, selling games, telephone etiquette, business communication, tele-marketing and presentation skills.
She is a certified Trainer from the Singapore Institute of Management and an Approved Master Trainer for the Academic Development Centre, University of Malaya. Her multifaceted talent includes being an editor for in-house publications of an International Pharmaceutical company and a regular contributor to Shoppers Magazine in the area of edutainment. In the year 2017, she obtained her Certified Coaching and Mentoring Professional (CCMP) which is approved by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the world’s most recognized professional coaching body. She is also a Certified Trainer for Human Resource Development Council (PSMB), Malaysia (8275) and HRD CORP Accredited Trainer (valid from 27 April 2022 to 27 April 2025)
